Viana Beads, hollow, spherical and decorated with Portuguese Filigree, are timelessly beautiful pieces that reflect the tradition of Portuguese jewellery making.

Historically, these beads were given as gifts on festive days by family members to girls from birth.

After becoming women, they would often use their meagre savings - obtained mainly from agricultural sales - to purchase additional beads, one at a time.
